Sri Chakra Maritime College is setting new bench mark in imparting of G P Rating Course education and training. The College has turned out 100% results for the third time in a row. It is record itself in the history of Maritime Education and training Institutes in the Private sector.

On the achievement, Usha Srinivas the Chairperson said that simply their hard work was paid off. She said that it was totally the team work. She was very appreciative of efforts of the Principal and the faculty, who worked even in the late evening and Sundays during the last two months of the course to ensure all the students understood the subjects taught.

The Principal Chief Engineer Uday Mitra was proud of the achievement. The Principal thanked all the staff especially the faculty and the visiting experts who the Principal said, made the achievement possible. He also thanked the Management for having given him free and having involved fulltime in the affairs of the College apart from providing the college with right direction. Speaking about instructional techniques he said that we always set learning out level. One we achieve it we are sure of the result. We set different level for Students learning outcome .No wonder; we are 100% three times in a row.

The Principal thanked the cooperation extended by DGS and BEST through their valuable inputs for the good conduct of the course. The principal added, "We now have more responsibility .We have to maintain Leadership position and to further improve ourselves. It's now about challenging our own benchmark".

The Principal on behalf of the management said that the College always cared for the interest of the trainees. It is just enough if they just pass out; they should be able to fit themselves in the job and compete with seafarers worldwide. It calls for strong foundation at training level. We simple do not believe in passing out just ratings, but send them out as potential leaders capable of taking on the world.

Sri Chakra Maritime College based in Pondicherry is IMU and DGS approved 7 year old Maritime Education and Training Institute imparting Pre Sea GP Training to students who aspire for a career in Merchant Navy.

Present intake of students is 80 with one G P rating Course. The College has been approved for starting further more courses with which the intake of students annually will increase to 200 in about 18 months. The college has achieved 100% pass in the last three batches consecutively; as the only Maritime college in south India among the private sector to have achieved. The trend is expected to continue.

The college has been approved for conducting value added courses, which has already contributed to the increase in revenue.
