    • Objective of the Course

      Provide pre-sea training that would balance theoretical knowledge, practical skills, safety consciousness and efficiency for those who wish to take up seafaring as a profession to serve as ratings on merchant ships, not only Indian ships but also those flying foreign flags.

      • Pass in 10th standard from a Board recognised by the Govt. with Pass in the each of the subjects Science, English and Mathematics.
    • Age limit
      • 17 1/2 to 25 Years.

      • Medical Fitness certificate

MEEO Course

    • Objective of the Course

      This unique sector-specific programme which is the first of its kind in India, focuses on the needs of appropriate education and training in the areas of Electrical and Electronics. The programme of study has been carefully designed by experts and professionals in shipping lines based on both practical as well as theoretical requirements with a strong emphasis on modern shipping practices. Yet another unique feature of this programme is that the curriculum will be largely handled by industry faculty who are experienced professionals in this field. This programme is designed to equip the students with adequate skills and knowledge in Electrical and Electronics in the ships.

      • Academic
        • A pass in B.E or B.Tech in EEE / Diploma in EEE (2-3 years of work experience) with minimum 50% in final year. 50% in English in 10th or 12th std or in the Degree course conducted by the Board or any University.
      • Age limit
        • 26 Years.
      • Eyesight standard
        • 6/12 in both eyes or 6/9 in better eye, 6/18 in other eye and with no colour blindness

B.Sc. in Nautical Science

    • Qualification
      • Eligibility Category A
        • Pass in 10+2 from a recognized board / university with not less than 60% in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.
      • Eligibility Category B
        • B.Sc. degree with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry OR Electronics from a recognized university with Physics and an individual subject in one of the years. Average of not less than 55% of marks in the final year.
      • Eligibility Category C
        • B.E./ B.Tech. or its equivalent degree from IIT or from a college recognized by AICTE/UGC/DEC and should have passed with not less than 50% marks in english as a subject, at either 10th or 12th standard or in the degree programme conducted by a recognized Board/University.
      • Eligibility Category D
        • Any Diploma holders with 55% marks and not less than 50% marks in Englih as a subject, at either 10th or 12th standard or in the Degree Programme conducted by a recognized Board/University.
      • Age limit
        • Upto 25 Years.
      • Eyesight standard
        • Normal colour vision.
        • 6/6 in each eye without visual aids.
    • Course Duration
      • 12 Months

Post Sea Courses

      • Elementary First Aid (EFA)
        • This course meets the mandatory requirements laid down in STCW95 A-VI/4-1; IMO 1.13.
        • The course covers the basic principles of first aid, first response treatment of a casualty and basic life support.
        • It is a stand alone course as well as a component of the Basic Safety Training course.
      • Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities (PSSR)
        • This course meets the requirements of STCW’95 A-VI/1 and is mandatory for all seafaring personnel.
        • The coruse covers personal safety on board, accident prevention, what to do in an emergency, employment conditions and genera working environmeent on board merchant vessels.
        • The course is a component of the Basic Safety Training.
      • Personal Survival Techniques (PST)
        • This course meets the requirements of STCW’95 Convention and is mandatory for all seafaring personnel.
        • The course covers basic survival principles and techniques, practical use of liferafts and what to do in an emergency.
        • The course is a component of the Basic Safety Training.
      • Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting (FPFF)
        • The course provides training in Fire Fighting and Fire Prevention and is mandatory for all seafaring personnel.
        • The course covers the correct use of fire fighting equipment, the different types of fires and corresponding fire fighting techniques.
        • The course is a component of the Basic Safety Training.
      • Oil Tanker Familiarization (TFC)
        • This course conforms to the requirement of STCW 95.
        • The course provides the basics of safety and practical tanker work to the student.
        • Care is taken to ensure that the participant is well prepared and feels comfortable even though he is joining a tanker for the first time.
        • An exhaustive library, audiovisual facilities and familiarization with equipment used on tankers provide added value to the course.
